Well, I guess it was inevitable as we kept inching closer every quarter… Yesterday, we surpassed a milestone half a billion shares traded in Thursday’s quarterly triple witch and S&P rebalance, setting a new daily record for the firm of a whopping 518 million shares and $36.5 billion notional executed. The little $2 broker that Dick Rosenblatt started on the NYSE floor in 1979 has come a long, long way. I’ve been blessed to be a part of that journey with him for about half the firm’s 46+ years, and so have Bobby Greason, who runs our crack floor team, and Mike Fredrickson, who does the same for our upstairs desk, in each case day in and day out. Neither the proverbial rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail-- nor for that matter a downtown #Knicks parade closing most of the subways and streets by the Exchange and our offices yesterday-- stops these guys from showing up and serving our clients who entrust their orders with us, just like Dick taught them. Thanks to Bobby, Mike and the rest of our team for their dedication, and of course our clients for their partnership.
