  • ETP average daily volume declined 0.92% m/m (-19.33% y/y), to 2.23 bn, as the VIX average daily close decreased 1.12% m/m (-36.30% y/y), to 13.79.
  • Average daily value traded fell 0.75% m/m (-11.20% y/y), to $157.5 bn.
  • ETPs accounted for 18.59% of total equity ADV (-63 bps m/m) and 23.84% of ADVT (-128 bps m/m).
  • The 20-most-active ETPs comprised 40.86% (-12 bps m/m) of total ETP volume and 7.60% (-27 bps m/m) of all equity volume.
  • NYSE Arca (+95 bps m/m) and Nasdaq (+78 bps m/m) gained the most market share; Off-board venues (-162 bps m/m) and Cboe EDGX (-77 bps m/m) lost the most.
  • Net ETP fund flows were positive for a 12th consecutive month at $47.36 bn, with US equity funds ($28.75 bn) leading the way and currency funds (+$5.84 bln) a distant second. Commodity funds (-$2.54 bn) suffered the largest net outflows.
