- Average daily value traded increased 6.17% m/m (+14.56% y/y) to €73.46 billion as volatility, measured by the VSTOXX average daily close, rose 24.48% m/m (+12.55% y/y) to 16.76.
- Bank SIs (+63 bps m/m), closing auctions (+49 bps m/m), lit trading (+48 bps m/m), dark MTFs (+30 bps m/m), opening auctions (+20 bps m/m), ELP SIs (+7 bps m/m) and periodic auctions (+1 bp m/m) all gained market share. Only OTC trading (-219 bps m/m) lost ground.
- Euronext Paris (+202 bps m/m) and Cboe DXE Europe (+84 bps m/m) gained the most on-venue market share among European trading venues, while Borsa Italiana (-59 bps m/m) lost the most.
- Of the major national listing exchanges we track, only the London Stock Exchange (+702 bps m/m, UK 250; +162 bps m/m, UK 100) and Euronext Brussels (+173 bps m/m) gained on-venue market share in their home indices. Nasdaq Stockholm (-357 bps m/m, SE 30), Euronext Lisbon (-327 bps m/m, PT 20) and Nasdaq Helsinki (-267 bps m/m, FI 25) lost the most market share.
- Alternative closing auction market share rose 42 bps m/m, accounting for 7.06% of total on-venue end-of-day activity.
