Ham Serunjogi is the Co-Founder and CEO of Chipper Cash having launched the business in 2018. Chipper develops software for merchants to process online and in-store payments, that enables instant, zero-fee, cross-border money transfers. He describes why he started Chipper by saying: “Our excitement about cryptocurrencies and FinTech came from our frustration over how hard and expensive it is to send money (especially cross-border) from one person to another in Africa, given the many different currencies across the continent”. Ham began his career at Facebook where he worked in their Dublin office responsible for building partner relationships with Facebook’s biggest UK advertisers. At a personal level, Ham swam competitively for many years and competed in the Singapore Youth Olympics representing Uganda. He has a degree in Economics from Grinnell college and attended the Aga Khan academy serving as President of its Student Council.
