ROSENBLATT HIRES BHATIA TO BOOST EXCHANGE COVERAGE
Veteran Buy-Sider Will Work With Institutional Analysts, Portfolio Managers
NEW YORK, NY, June 11, 2012 – Rosenblatt Securities, a leading institutional brokerage firm and global authority on exchanges and market structure, is pleased to announce that it has hired Akhil Bhatia as a Vice President. A veteran buy-side analyst, Bhatia will focus on helping institutional analysts and portfolio managers better understand the global exchange industry and other market-structure-related companies. He will report to Justin Schack, a Managing Director who leads Rosenblatt’s Market Structure Analysis group.
“We’ve known, liked and respected Akhil for several years,” said Schack. “He is one of a handful of buy-side analysts that has focused intently on exchange companies, and he has extensive industry relationships. Bringing him on board will allow us to better serve the institutional analysts and portfolio managers that have, in recent years, increasingly relied on Rosenblatt as a source of alternative intelligence on exchanges and market-structure-related companies.”
Rosenblatt takes a unique approach to serving exchange-space investors, eschewing conventional buy-sell-hold ratings, earnings estimates and other maintenance-oriented research in favor of deep, practitioner-informed analysis of the industry’s competitive dynamics. The firm also delivers unparalleled access to exchange-industry executives and other influential market participants, through events such as its annual Global Exchange Leader Conference.
Prior to joining Rosenblatt, Bhatia was a Senior Analyst for Surveyor Capital, an affiliate of Citadel LLC. A graduate of Virginia Tech, he also has been an analyst at Diamondback Capital Management and Balyasny Asset Management.
